The Haunted Trail at Malahide Castle & Gardens

Immerse yourself in a world of eerie enchantment this Halloween by embarking on their brand-new Haunted Trail. The October Bank Holiday weekend will see Ireland’s most bewitching Halloween experience come alive with spooktacular activities and interactive fun for all the family.

Prepare for a day out designed to be spooky but not scary,  filled with magical moments perfect for little ghosts and ghouls. While aimed at younger children, guests of all ages and abilities are welcome to enjoy this outdoor and accessible walk across a 1 kilometre route. With enchanting decorations, costumed characters, and fabulous photo opportunities.

Guests are encouraged to arrive ready for action, dressed in their own costumes. Surrounded by twinkling lights and spine-tingling sounds, you’ll embark on your Halloween adventure through the enchanting surroundings of Malahide Castle & Gardens.

Spider's
Web

Tangled amongst the trees, our family of spiders is weaving a web for all their visitors to see. Can you spot them all?

The Witches' Kitchen

Take a glance into the dark arts at the witches' kitchen. Shelves filled with jars of curious ingredients as she stirs her bubbling cauldron, mixing up potions.

The Haunted Graveyard

With an eerie chill in the air and dense fog, keep your eyes peeled and stick to the trail.

Spirits
Grove

Swaying gently in the breeze, these goofy spirits dance to the gentle music that fills the air. Keep an eye out for Malahide Castles resident ghost Puck!

The Vampires' Lair

Candlelight flickering, the sound of bat wings fluttering fills the air, and our resident vampire has been awakened and is ready for some fun!

Pumpkin
Patch

Stop by our pumpkin patch and see if you can make our scarecrow move. 

Werewolf's Den

Listen for the howls through the forest as our lonely wolf tries to find his friends. Can you help?

Avoca Foodhall
& Cafe

Avoca at Malahide Castle includes a stunning retail store, 170-seater cafe overlooking the walled gardens, and a tempting food market. 

Serving up delicious seasonal dishes with a selection of devilous cakes and treats from 9.30am- 6pm on weekends. 

Enjoy your coffee to go or bask in the gorgeous surroundings of the sit-down cafe.
